Foothill-De Anza Community College District New District Office Building
Los Altos Hills
Building upon our successful relationship with the Foothill-De Anza Community College District, Ratcliff was asked to design a signature piece for the District’s new Office Building to be located at the Foothill College campus site. The 23,700 sf two-story building with an estimated construction cost of $17.8 million, will house 70 administrative
offices for both Foothill and De Anza Colleges. Like the Physical Sciences and Engineering Center that Ratcliff designed, this new building will contextually honor the historically and architecturally significant campus.  The facility is NZE ready with gently sloping roofs to the south and is geared towards low maintenance with metal roofing and siding.  The two-story office wing is based on highly flexible open plan office areas flanked by service zones with shared amenities as well as director offices.  The unique board room is shaped for efficient communication and transparency.  In the Foothill College tradition, the use of natural materials, wood finishes and interiors with abundant daylight and views to the oak studded hills are all hallmarks of the New District Offices.
