01 Nov Long Range Master Planning and Campus Improvements for San Francisco’s St. Vincent De Paul Campus
Master Plan and Implementation Projects, St. Vincent de Paul School, San Francisco, CA
Ratcliff is partnering with the San Francisco Archdiocese and St. Vincent de Paul School to develop a 10+year long-range school improvement master plan that addresses required seismic upgrades to the primary and middle schools and the gym building. The primary drivers for the work are to improve security, enhance school identity, improve connectivity and accessibility, and create student centered learning environments that are flexible and adaptable and encourage creativity and innovation. The phased master plan includes an new entry on Green Street, a middle school addition, improvements to the lower school and gymnasium and a new parking garage with a rooftop play area.
In the early phases of master planning, Ratcliff led stakeholder meetings with the parish clergy, the school administration and faculty, the Seismic Committee and the Parent Representation Committee to identify the project goals and develop a functional space program. Ratcliff has completed a comprehensive code analysis and an assessment of the existing building systems. We are working closely with the SF Planning Department on the entitlements phase and are developing construction documents for implementation of the first phase of the master plan.
