Part of a long-range master plan, the newly completed renovation of a mid-century classroom building preserved and refreshed the existing building in lieu of tearing it down.

With a focus on 21st Century Learning, community gathering, and supportive technology, the Stinson Center for Learning and Innovation reimagined an existing library space into a new student hub. Bringing in daylight, breakout rooms for studying and collaborating, an efficient area for stacks, and flexible furniture choices, the new spaces provide choice and options for students and faculty. The “Innovation Lab” provides space for critical and design thinking with overhead system to support the use of technology and tools.

The classroom renovations adjacent to the Center were also refreshed to support different modalities of learning and teaching, and a new entry to administrative offices provides a welcoming front door.

Renovations enhanced the overall entry and appearance of the school as the street-facing façade received a new high-performance building envelope, new signage and new landscaping.
